200 Hour Teacher Training
We have two emphases in the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. That is to aid the teacher in training to develop a vocation in the art of teaching yoga and to aid the student to gain greater understanding of and relationship to their own body and mind.
The next 200 Hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training will run from January 30th, 2025 - June 12th, 2025. Sign up now to receive an "early bird" pricing deal!
Curriculum
Classical Ashtanga Yoga
This includes asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra, shat karma, the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. We teach the subtle body and how to integrate awareness of the chakras, vayus and nadis within yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation.
Asana
We study and practice asana to the degree that every student in the training program is confident practicing the core poses correctly and leading their future students with ease. Each teacher will have ample opportunities to teach within the program, thus aiding them to find their voice and begin developing their style of teaching. Students will learn a set of thirty core postures. Within the study of these core postures, we will cover alignment, anatomy, benefits, modifications, contraindications, sequencing, and cueing for each pose. These thirty core poses function as a bridge to all Yoga poses. As the student understands the basic principles of anatomy and alignment for one foundational pose, they will become competent in teaching all poses from the same family (i.e. back bends, forward bends, inversions, twisting).
Yoga Philosophy
In this Yoga Teacher Training Program, we study the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita in depth using commentary from Baba Hari Dass, Paramahansa Yogananda, and Ecknath Easwaran. Students will learn about the integration of yoga philosophy with modern psychology.
