In this 8 week course, you will study both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. There will be in depth review of specific passages within each text as well as experiential meditation exercises. The aim of this course is to understand the essence of each text and how their underlying messages are similar and different. As we study the hero's journey of two historical characters, we will examine the parallels in our own lives.

Below is the curriculum for The Study: 

Descent of Spirit into Matter: Week 1 - Beginning of Bhagavad Gita (setup of the battlefield) —————————> Book of John/Genesis

Battleground: Week 2 - Battle of Kurukshetra, battle of mind and the senses —————————> Jesus’ struggle with the devil

Karma Yoga: Week 3 - Karma Yoga —————————> Jesus’ ministry (specific parts in John and Matthew), symbolic interpretations of Disciples and how they are different

Jnana Yoga: Week 4 - Jnana Yoga—————————> Jesus talking to Pharisees and movement into Vijnana Yoga

Bhakti Yoga: Week 5 - Bhakti Yoga —————————> Jesus talking about laying down one’s life for friends, leave brother and sister behind and follow me, dead will have life, living will have death. Abraham almost killing son. David killing Goliath. John the Baptist

Beatific Vision: Week 6 - Krishna revealing Himself to Arjuna —————————> Book of Revelations

Gunas: Week 7 - Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas Gunas, they are the component parts of creation, activity, consciousness, and matter —————————>Jesus giving a drunkard purpose with building houses (tamas to rajas) Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar’s and God what is God’s (rajas and sattvas) 

Review: Week 8 - Connections people made, putting all of it together, road to Self
