Mel has been a student of yoga for almost 10 years. She began taking yoga classes in college as a way to keep her physical body in shape, but she quickly realized the benefits extended to her mind as well. After each practice, she felt calmer and more at peace within myself. She knew there was something magical to the practice and she had a deep desire to continue to learn more.
In 2016, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Hatha and Kundalini Yoga through Trinity Yoga in Fort Worth, TX and she is currently working toward my 500-hour teaching certification. What she loves about teaching yoga is that she is able to share with others something she is truly passionate about. Yoga has transformed her life in so many ways and she hopes to share that experience with others.
In addition to teaching yoga, she is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and works in the behavioral healthcare field. She is passionate about holistic approaches to healthcare and the integration of physical and mental health to support mind, body, and spirit.
Fun Fact: She was once bitten by a snake (come to her class and she'll tell you all about it!).
